Recently, P7 have been doing some work on 3D shapes and finding the volume of cubes and cuboids. They were using cm3 cubes to investigate volumes and to check out that the formula V=L x B x H really does work. In some cases, they also took everyday boxes, worked out their volumes and then took them back to their net-shapes and calculated the surface areas.
